Class Rules and Guidelines for Registration
Unrestored Class Guidelines:
-
Authenticity: Sleds close to factory original as possible. True barn finds or those that have stood the test of time are ideal.
-
Condition: Chips, dents, and faded paint are acceptable, though some sleds may have fewer imperfections.
-
Permitted Touch-Ups: Routine cleaning and touch-up painting of skis, suspension, and wear items are allowed.
-
Prohibited Modifications: Repainted hoods, repainted tunnels, reproduction decals & reupholstered seats are not permitted.
-
Polished Tunnels: Although not factory correct, polished tunnels are allowed as they fall under routine maintenance / cleaning. However, if two sleds are identical, the one with the factory finish will be favored over the polished one.
Restored Classes Guidelines:
This category includes sleds that have undergone full or partial restoration. Examples of such restorations include: New paint, new reproduction hood, repainted tunnels, reupholstered seats, re-chromed parts, new decals/graphics, all new instruments/gauges or dash panels.
Trail Class 1967 – 1995:
These are your standard mass-produced regular-size sleds from the golden era of snowmobile manufacturing.
Trail Muscle Class 1970 – 1985:
The higher horsepower trail sleds. Not factory racers. Your big dog sleds of that era. (Some 440s, 500s, 600s, 650s & larger). Examples: Polaris Centurion, Arctic Cat El Tigre, Ski Doo Blizzard & TNT, etc.
Vintage Race 1985 & Older:
Factory-made race sleds. Can have sponsor names, decals and / or racing numbers. Can have some original/ mods from back in the day. Examples: Polaris Starfire, Ski Doo Blizzard & RV, Arctic Cat EXT, Z, & King Kat, Alouette Super, Moto Ski SR & Sonic, Merc Sno Twister, Rupp Magnum, Yamaha SR, SSR & SRX, SnoJet Thunderjet, etc. Classes sorted by year, not by front suspension style. Mini Sleds 1967 – 1985:
Smaller size factory original sleds like Kitty Cats, Sno Pony, Aloutte Mini Brute, Yamaha Sno Scoot, Chrysler Sno Runner, Larkin, etc. that were produced for smaller children. Not the 120cc sled variety.
Cutter / Tow Behind (All Years):
Anything that can be towed behind a snowmobile. Factory original or non-factory original. Modified or custom-made tow behinds will go in the restored class.
Forgotten Wonders 1975 & Older:
This would be limited-build sleds. Manufacturers that existed only for a short number of years. Sleds that are rarely seen.
Youth Class up to Age 16 1985 & Older:
Sled that has been worked on, restored by, have had partial ownership of, or has been ridden regularly by a 16 year old and younger.
Trail Modern 1996 – 2005:
All newer style sleds that are factory original (unrestored) or restored will be in the same class.
Active Race Sleds 2005 & Older:
Sled that is being raced in drag racing, hill climbs, sno-cross, water-cross, oval racing, cross country, etc. They can be modified.
Clone Sleds 2005 & Older:
Non-factory original but made to look like the real deal.
Custom / Rest-O-Mod 1985 & Older:
Regular-sized sleds that are non-factory original and have custom paint / graphics, fiberglass mods, custom seats, parts off of different sleds modified to fit. Rat-Rod style sleds will be in this class.
Custom / Modified - Mini Sled 2005 & Older:
Smaller-size sleds that are non-factory original and have custom paint / graphics, fiberglass mods, custom seats, parts off of different sleds modified to fit. Examples are Kitty Cats, Sno Pony, Aloutte Mini Brute, Yamaha Sno Scoot, Chrysler Sno Runner, Larkin, etc. Most Unique:
If it’s different and weird, it’s here. Maybe some factory one-off stuff. Factory original or some type of after-market mods that were available from back in the day.
Utility / Work Sleds 1990 & Older:
These are your wide track or double track heavy-haul sleds built for work or tow. Many sleds have racks on the back and / or under- seat storage. Examples: Ski Doo Alpine & Skandic, Polaris Voyager, etc.
Youths up to Age 12 (120cc Sleds) 2005 & Older:
Class is for younger riders up to age 12. 120cc sleds 2005 and older. The registrant must be younger than 12 years of age.
Display (Multiple Sleds) 2005 and Older:
The display must have a similar theme to it.
-
Sleds of the same year but different manufacturer
-
Sleds from the same manufacturer
-
Sleds that are all of the same model but different years. Basically, it’s NOT a group of sleds that have no rhyme or reason to the display. The display should include memorabilia, signs, clothing, helmets, etc.
Notes:
-
Participants with sled(s) registered in the incorrect classes, will be contacted and asked to move the sled. Please refer to the rules above when registering your sled(s) for the show. We want this show to be an event that anyone with any sled can come to and display their sled(s). If you have any questions on where to register your sled(s), please contact us.
-
Snowmobiles must be “capable” of running to be judged. MUST have engine, carburetor, fuel line, gas tank, etc. but no gas.
-
All sleds will be displayed in their respective classes. If you want to display all your sleds together in a group, you must register them in the Display Class. Sleds will be judged as display. Display space is LIMITED, call to reserve.
-
This is an indoor event. All sled gas tanks must be drained and absolutely no running of sleds is permitted indoors at any time. ANY participants that run their sled(s) indoors will be removed immediately and no refund will be given.
